Our story
We met through people in a commercialization program at Czech Technical University — Artur was finishing law school, Matus was wrapping up data science at ETH Zurich. Our first prototype was an LLM-powered contract generator. In hindsight: a fairly naive idea.
Then came our first real client, and with them, clear feedback. Companies didn't need to generate contracts — they needed to handle the massive volume of documents they already had. So we pivoted.
Since then, we've gone through many iterations and made plenty of mistakes. We did research nobody asked for. Built things nobody needed. Slowly, we learned to build what actually matters.
In fall 2025, we released the first full version of the Pactus platform. Around the same time, we launched pravobot.cz — a legal chatbot for Czech law, built on the same core.
